When the library closes life begins!! Her are some ideas to what you might do.
There are lots of activities available for you to do in your spare time. Aarhus has a rich cultural life with lots of exhibitions, concerts and theatre plays. The city also has a buzzing social life especially due to the large number of students.
A great hang-out place is down by the canal, where the cafés are always busy, while the Latin Quarter offers an extremely ‘hyggelig’ (cosy) atmosphere. If you are a student, you don’t want to miss out on the Friday bars, which have become a bit of a ‘national institution’. They are arranged by student committees at the institutes and are open almost every Friday afternoon during the semester.
The University also has two ‘normal’ bars; Unibar, which is situated on the lower floor of Stakladen, specialises in quality beer from all over the world, and Studenterhuset, which is situated in Pakhuset in the harbour, offers various sorts of concerts and shows, and Tuesday night is usually dedicated to an international theme.
The business school also has its own club, cleverly named ‘Klubben’. Learn more about what Aarhus has to offer on a night on the town in our section
